Your books are nobody’s business. Including ours.

1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, receive, or store:
- •Your book titles, authors, or library contents
- •Your name, email address, or any personal information
- •Device identifiers or usage data
- •Location data
- •Camera images or video
Demure has no account and no sign-in.
2. Your Library
Demure stores your library on your device using iOS secure storage. This includes book titles, authors, fake cover details, and reading app preference.
It does not leave your device. Deleting the app removes all of it.
3. Book Search
When you search for a book, Demure sends your search query to Open Library (openlibrary.org), a public database operated by the Internet Archive. Demure does not associate this query with your identity.
Open Library’s own privacy policy governs their handling of requests. Demure has no control over it.
Barcode scanning happens entirely on your device. No image or video is uploaded.
4. Camera Access
Demure requests camera access to scan ISBN barcodes. The camera feed is processed on your device and is not recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Demure. Revoking access disables barcode scanning; all other features continue to work.
5. No Analytics or Tracking
Demure does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting services inside the app.
This website (getdemure.app) uses Plausible Analytics, a cookieless analytics service that collects no personal data.
6. Third-Party Services
Demure uses the following external services:
- •Open Library (openlibrary.org) for book metadata lookup via search query
- •Apple Books / Kindle for deep-linking when you tap to read (Demure passes a URL scheme, not your personal data)
- •Apple App Store for payment processing
No other third-party SDKs or services are included in the app.
7. Children
Demure does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above. Because we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly. Check this page if you have questions.
