Does Demure replace the cover inside Apple Books or Kindle?
No. Demure replaces the cover on your Demure shelf.
When you open Apple Books or Kindle, the real cover may appear there. Those apps control their own display. Demure can’t follow you in there.
Who can see my Demure library?
Nobody. Demure stores your library locally on your device. There is no account, no server, and no sync. The only place your library appears is in the Demure app on your iPhone.
Does Demure work offline?
Yes. Once you add a book, everything works offline.
Searching for new books requires an internet connection.
How do I add a book?
Tap the plus button and search by title or author. If search does not find the book, add it manually.
What reading apps does Demure support?
Apple Books and Kindle. When you tap a book in your Demure library, Demure shows both options so you can open the reading app and choose the book there.
Can I change the title and author shown on a cover?
Yes. You can change the title on cover and the author on cover any time. The cover shows whatever you set, not the real book details.
If I delete Demure, do I lose my library?
Yes. Deleting the app removes its storage, and reinstalling will not bring the library back. A device backup made before you deleted it would still contain it, but only a full device restore would return it. Demure has no cloud of its own.
What happens if I get a new iPhone?
If you set up your new iPhone by restoring an iCloud or computer backup, your library comes with it. Demure keeps everything in the app’s own storage on your device, which that backup includes. If you set the new phone up as a brand new device instead, Demure starts empty. There is no account to sign in to either way.
Is Demure available for Android?
No. Demure is an iPhone app only.
